The clients asked for an extension of the ground floor apartment due to the family expansion. However, locating an additional room in a deep terraced house was a challenge due to the insufficient amount of daylight. Therefore, when designing, we focused on the maximum use of daylight. Thanks to this, the extension on the garden side gained a dynamic, slanted shape, facing south-west. The elevation is covered with whitewashed brick and the window frames are made of natural wood, which is continued inside the room.
The fight for every ray of sunshine continues inside. We agreed that the master bedroom would be located inside the apartment so that the child's room would have access to direct sunlight. The walls in the communication route were made of polycarbonate panels to ensure maximum access to daylight. The materials used in the living room are limited to architectural concrete in the kitchen area and uniform natural wood in the lounge area,
